She holds the Tier I Canada Research Chair on Interpersonal Trauma and Resilience. She is also co-holder of the Chaire interuniversitaire Marie-Vincent sur les agressions sexuelles envers les enfants and leads the FRQ-SC sexual violence and health team (EVISSA). Her main research interests relate to child sexual abuse and adolescent dating violence. Her research projects aim to identify adaptative factors among children and adolescents who recently disclosed a sexual abuse, and to explore the diversity of profiles among victims. She is especially interested in identifying factors associated with either resilience or revictimization trajectories. In collaboration with different partners in practice settings, she has also conducted several studies to assess the efficacy of various preventive and therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of her career, Martine H\u00e9bert has supervised the training of more than 90 graduate students, 17 of whom are currently university professors. In collaboration with colleagues, she has edited three books on sexual abuse and psychosexual development, and written over than 330 scientific articles and 65 book chapters. Martine H\u00e9bert has received more than 52 million dollars in research grants including 12 million as principal investigator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exceptional career of Martine H\u00e9bert has been recognized by several authorities. She is also laureate of the Women of Distinction Awards &#8211; Education Category in 2013 from the Women\u2019Y Foundation, which recognizes her leadership as a mentor for the next generation of scholars. She also received the Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Gouin-D\u00e9carie 2014 award from the Association francophone pour le savoir (ACFAS), a reward offered for recognition for outstanding contribution in the field of social sciences. In 2017, she was selected as a finalist for the \u00c9galit\u00e9 Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Casgrain prize for the Youths\u2019 Romantic Relationships Project, and she received the Exceptional Contribution in Research award from the Faculty of Human Sciences at UQAM. She was also nominated in 2017 as a member of the Royal Society of Canada, and she received the CPA Award for Excellence in Psychology award from the Traumatic Stress section of the Canadian Psychological Association in 2019.
