Anabel de Champlain, master’s student

Anabel holds a multidisciplinary bachelor’s degree from the Université Laval comprised of three certificates in psychology, criminology and sexual health. She has also completed a bachelor’s in psychology and is now pursuing a master’s degree in sexology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Under the direction of Martine Hébert, Ph.D., her research will focus on the repercussions of child sexual abuse on mental health problems, children’s psychosexual development and psychological well-being as well as the development of dating relationships throughout adolescence and adulthood.

Anabel’s background has allowed her to expand her skills in intervention and research. For three years, she worked at the Institut Universitaire en santé mentale de Québec as a research assistant for the sexual disorders clinic where she participated in the development of interventions targeting individuals who consume child pornography. She has also worked as a psychosocial worker within the Violence Info organization, whose mission is to provide support to women victims of domestic violence and their children.

Enthusiastic about the idea of being part of the Canada Research Chair in Interpersonal Trauma and Resilisence, Anabel feels that her involvement within the Lab will support her learning objectives and that Dr. Hébert’s expertise will be of great assistance in the completion of her master’s thesis.

Welcome to the team, Anabel!
