Edith Paré-Roy, master’s student

Edith obtained a bachelor’s degree in literature Studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), followed by a certificate in journalism and a second one in translation from the Université de Montréal. She then took additional training in psychology and she is now beginning a master’s degree in sexology at UQAM. She is interested in the psychological well-being and resilience of marginalized individuals, including youth from sexual diversity.
Edith’s research interests arose while exploring the themes of trauma and resilience through creative writing. She has written articles on a variety of gender issues for the organization Les 3 sex. While writing an article about the Youths’ Romantic Relationships (YRR) survey, a project led by Martine Hébert, her interest in resilience was reinforced. She then decided to pursue a master’s degree in sexology under the direction of Dr. Hebert.
Welcome to the team, Édith!
