A new student joined the lab!

Laurie is an undergraduate student in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. This year, she is conducting an honours thesis under the supervision of Martine Hébert, PhD. and Alison Paradis, PhD. She is primarily interested in sexual victimization in teen dating relationships as well as its repercussions on the subsequent intimate relationships. In her honours thesis, Laurie will investigate how sexual victimization influences the development of adolescents’ self-esteem.

Laurie has completed a research internship in the Lab during which she produced an infographic presenting the results of parents/significant adults and youth needs evaluation as part of the development of the Sparkle Project, a new dating violence prevention and healthy relationships promotion program.

Given Dr. Hébert’s expertise on sexual violence and the great availability she provides her students, Laurie has decided to extend her involvement in the team. She aims to undertake doctoral studies next year to further her knowledge in the field of dating violence and to improve her intervention skills in working with adolescents.

Welcome to the team Laurie!
