Research Professional Portrait – Marily
Marily Julien holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a bachelor’s degree in sexology and a master’s degree in sexology, research and clinic.
She has worked in several community organizations as a practitioner and coordinator. During her graduate studies, she was involved in research projects associated with the Canada Research Chair in Interpersonal Traumas and Resilience, for which Martine Hébert is the scientific director. She has been collaborating with the team since 2016.
Her interests focus on sexuality education for youth and the prevention of problems such as violence in romantic relationships. As part of Martine Hébert’s team, she currently shares the coordination of the Étincelles project, which aims to promote positive romantic relationships among high school students. Marily is also the evaluation coordinator of the Lantern program of the Marie-Vincent Interuniversity Chair on child sexual abuse, of which Martine Hébert is a co-holder.
She chose to work in Martine Hébert’s research laboratory to have the opportunity to combine her interests in prevention and research, but also for the professional discipline and the spirit of collaboration that prevails within the team.
