Student Portrait – Jade

Jade completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. During her undergraduate degree, she did an internship in the Laboratoire d’études sur la violence et la sexualité directed by Dr. Mylène Fernet. This experience was significant as she discovered a passion for research on violence in intimate relationships, particularly sexual violence among adolescents and young adults. What motivates Jade is the opportunity to reach many people through research and to provide sex education that meets the needs of youth. Therefore, she enrolled in a master’s degree in sexology research-intervention in sexuality education and sexual health promotion in the fall of 2022.

For her master’s project, Jade’s objective is to evaluate the effects of five awareness-raising activities on violence in the context of intimate relationships among college students. She is co-directed by Dr. Mylène Fernet and Dr. Martine Hébert. She is grateful for this co-direction, as it will allow her access to the knowledge and advice of these two researchers who stand out in their field.
