Student Portrait- Pénélope

Pénélope completed a bachelor’s degree in criminology at the Université de Montréal. This year, she is starting a master’s degree in sexology at Université du Québec à Montréal, under the direction of Martine Hébert, Ph.D. As part of her master’s degree, Penelope is interested in the effects of the SPARX program on the attitudes of youth. When asked why she chose to work under Dr. Hébert’s direction, Pénélope says that her involvement and caring, and her impressive research on victims motivated her choice. She also appreciates all the members of the laboratory team and their sense of helpfulness.

Victimology is a subject that Penelope has been passionate about since the beginning of her university studies. In terms of intervention, she has worked with domestic and family violence victims. Pénélope participates in various projects in the laboratory, including the Sparks project. In addition, she is also part of the Research Chair on Gender and Intervention in Addiction at the University of Sherbrooke as a research assistant.

Welcome to the team, Pénélope!
