Student Portrait – Samuelle

Samuelle completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Université de Montréal. Through her clinical experiences with women victims of domestic violence and adults struggling with depression, she discovered a particular interest in supporting and accompanying people experiencing violence in their interpersonal relationships. She is interested in understanding the issues related to violence, particularly sexual violence, to be better equipped to intervene with this clientele.

Samuelle’s interest in Dre. Martine Hébert’s research work and her great involvement in the field of research has aroused her desire to get involved in her laboratory. This fall, she will begin her master’s degree in sexology research intervention, sexuality education, and sexual health promotion under the co-direction of Dre Martine Hébert and Dre Mylène Fernet. As part of her master’s degree, she is interested in the effects of a campaign to raise awareness of violence in the context of intimate relationships among college students. This initiative also aims to promote positive and egalitarian relationships, which is very important to Samuelle.
