Valéry Dubé, undergraduate student

Valéry is a bachelor’s student in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She is currently conducting an Honours thesis under the supervision of Martine Hébert, Ph.D. and Louise Cossette, Ph.D. She is interested in the repercussions of traumas, such as neglect, physical and sexual abuse in children. Her thesis will focus on the emotional recognition of child victims of sexual abuse who have witnessed domestic violence.

During her CEGEP years, Valéry had the opportunity to work on a research project focusing on adolescents under the care of the Youth Protection Services. This is when her interest in research and intervention with vulnerable youth first developed. Her aspirations are to continue in this field of research and to develop her clinical skills in order to work with this clientele in the future.

Welcome to the team, Valéry!
